Now here's a rare Fender! This glorious Mustang was made in 2011 in Japan as part of a shortlived Pawn Shop series of unique guitars. Fender was inspired by "guitars that never were but should have been" - modified "unicorns" that you can sometimes find in a pawn shop.

This Mustang Special has a lot of modernized features, that make it a much more versatile, reliable and user-friendly instrument. It has the same 24-inch short scale as a regular Mustang and Jaguar - so it is very easy to play, especially if you are into weird chord voicings. Comparing to a vintage-correct Mustang, this one has a flatter 9.5-inch fretboard radius and medium jumbo frets, that help avoid choking strings when bending.

Traditional Mustang tremolo here has been replaced by a much more stable hardtail bridge, that unlocks better sustain and tuning stability. Body is made of alder (as opposed to poplar and basswood on most other Mustangs) and despite it's smaller size has very full resonance and acoustic voice. It is also equipped with both the arm contour and the belly curve for a more comfortable playing experience.

One of the coolest features of this Mustang Special are the Enforcer Wide Range humbuckers and the unique wiring. 3-way toggle switch allows for simple switching between neck, neck+bridge and bridge positions. Two upper slider switches are coil selectors for each pickup. So you can have the best of both worlds - the grit and the power of a humbucker and the clarity of a single-coil. Thanks to the possibility of selecting which of the two coils you want to use the total amount of tonal combinations reach a staggering 18! How about that?

Guitar comes in good condition with some scratches and dings on the body, "buckle-rash" on the back and a ding on the front of headstock. All parts are original, there is no structural damage and nothing has been swapped or modified except for one bridge pickup mounting screw.

This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, rosewood fretboard lemon oil treatment, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings.

This guitar will be shipped around UK and EU with Parcelforce courier, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. Worldwide shipping is provided as well.
