Here is one truly beautiful 60s style Stratocaster in the rarest Burgundy Mist Metallic finish!
Fender Japan will be celebrating 40 years quite soon and during these 4 decades they established themselves as both hardworking craftsmen with stunning attention to the smallest details and also innovators, ready to improve on classic designs of Fender USA and rival their finest instruments in terms of quality and price.
This Strat is part of new high-end "Hybrid" series of Fender Japan guitars, that are meant for those players who seek classic vintage looks and feel of the "Golden Era" of Fender, but cannot deal with the way too rounded fretboard radius or skinny frets or unstable traditional tremolo systems.
Slab rosewood fretboard now has 9.5-inch radius and medium jumbo frets (same as used on American Standard/Deluxe/Professional guitars) for a much more user-friendly feel and easier bending. However the neck design is still just like the early 1960s, with the truss-rod adjuster at the heel, nice and full U-shape, vintage style slotted tuners and "over-the-lacquer" decal on the headstock. Neck plays very nicely, especially thanks to that satin lacquer on the back, that make it feel like a nicely worn-in instrument.
Burgundy Mist is applied over a very classic looking alder body (instead of the more traditional for Fender Japan basswood). Balanced weight and deep natural resonance make this a real pleasure to play. 3-ply truly 60s style mint green plate looks gorgeous together with the aged cream pickup coves and knobs.
To get the absolute best electrical voice for this top-spec Strat model Fender Japan turned to Fender USA and as a result this guitar boasts Fender USA Pure Vintage 57/62 alnico V pickups, that have beautiful articulation and dynamics and provide a wide palette of sounds.
The rest of the wiring also has top-spec USA components, such as CTS A250K "dimple" pots, CRL switch and Switchcraft output jack. Yellow Hornet ceramic capacitor provides a very smooth and gradual treble roll-off.
Traditional 6 point Stratocaster tremolo, known for its flawed tuning stability thanks to friction issues, has been replaced with the proven USA design with two pivot points and reduced friction. Saddles still have the traditional bent design, but this tremolo won't throw your Strat out of tune every time you use it.
To make matters of tuning instability feel like a distant past, Fender Japan also installed a set of Gotoh Magnum Lock top-locking tuners, that provide a much more rigid string contact point, eliminate the need to wind the strings around the posts and reducing friction. These also have staggered post design for better string angles at the nut.
Guitar for sale comes in unplayed condition with just a couple of very minor surface scratches on the scratchplate and back of the body.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body clean, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard treatment and full electronics check. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 nickel-plated steel strings.
This guitar will be shipped around UK and EU with Parcelforce courier, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. Worldwide shipping provided as well.

However, we try to get the best playability out of every guitar and set them up so you can play both rhythm and lead. We also pull them all apart to clean and check every single component and replace all unreliable parts with new ones, from dodgy pots to the whole wiring, tuners, string trees, nuts and etc. All the work done is described in detail in the listing.
We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor. Some colours might look slightly different on your monitor, but we will always put the official Fender colour name in the listing description, so please study pictures of other guitars with the same colour if you are unsure. We focus on finding great quality guitars and making them reliable and inspiring to play.
