American Standard Stratocaster is the benchmark for quality and tonal versatility, that Fender established all the way back in 1987. Since then these classic guitars for modern players of any genre have been seen on stages and in studios all around the world. Improved design of the bridge comparing to the vintage models, more user-friendly necks and medium jumbo frets all made this model a favourite among so many players.

Guitar for sale was made in Corona, California in 2004 and comes in beautifully vibrant Torino Red gloss finish. What makes this particular instrument quite special is the upgraded maple neck from the top-range American Plus series, made in 1996. The specs are the same as the original neck had, but the Plus model comes with a Fender LSR frictionless nut and doesn't have any string trees thanks to the use of staggered tuners. Both these features eliminate friction and thus improve tuning stability even with active tremolo use. Further improvement is provided by the use of Sperzel USA locking tuners - arguably the best locking tuners available!

Neck has stunning patina and lacquer wear from years of playing and comes with a comfy C-shape and rolled fretboard edges. Medium jumbo frets have plenty of life left in them and the Bi-Flex truss-rod works well.

Alder body is not too heavy and very resonant, with beautiful natural sustain. Inner cavities haven't been modified and body is in great condition and only has one little dent near the forearm contour. Neck pocket has the factory-installed MicroTilt mechanism that allows to raise or lower the neck heel for even better set up possibilities. Beautiful and unique single-ply aluminium pickguard makes this stand out amongst the crowd.

Electric voice is provided by a set of Fender's most popular high-end pickups - Custom Shop Fat 50s. The tonal palette variety of these single-coils is something else - you get dark and warm tones from the neck pickup, bridge and cutting sounds from the bridge and very balanced middle pickup with tons of character from the in-between positions. Tone capacitor has been upgraded to military-spec paper-in-oil design for smooth and useful treble roll off.

Guitar comes in it's original Fender USA hardshell case that is in good condition and even has the original key for the lock.

This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings.

Please note that although we put our heart and soul and also all our knowledge into every single guitar we sell, a setup is a personal preference. However, we try to get the best playability out of every guitar and set them up so you can play both rhythm and lead. We also pull them all apart to clean and check every single component and replace all unreliable parts with new ones, from dodgy pots to the whole wiring, tuners, string trees, nuts and etc. All the work done is described in detail in the listing.

We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor. Some colours might look slightly different on your monitor, but we will always put the official Fender colour name in the listing description, so please study pictures of other guitars with the same colour if you are unsure. We focus on finding great quality guitars and making them reliable and inspiring to play.
