Gorgeous example of the coveted 1980s Fender Japan Stratocaster in stunning condition and beautiful old Lake Placid Blue nitro refinish. Full of resonance and equipped with those flat-pole pickups, that have quite a unique and very characherful tone, this guitar basically plays itself.
Medium size C-shape maple neck has a vintage-correct 7.25-inch fretboard radius and vintage frets with minimal wear. Gotoh Japan tuners have tension adjustment screws and are quite reliable. Roller string trees help to reduce friction.G-serial dates this back to 1987. Basswood body, that came out of Fuji-Gen factory being white, has been professionally resprayed in old Lake Placid Blue nitro. It has all those lovely contours and is full of tone thanks to a thinner nitro refinish. Besides some finish wear near the output jack and a couple of very small dings, it is not exhibiting any other wear and has original SSS body cavity routing.
Flat pole pickups have been used by Fender Japan throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. These have a very interesting voicing with quite punchy mid-range and lots of variation via the Volume and Tone knobs and can be adjusted higher up towards the strings for substantial bass and treble increase without the annoying mids sticking out, like with a staggered design. After 30 years the original wiring still works well, the tone capacitor has a very pleasant treble roll off.
Original Vintage style tremolo bridge works well and is quite expressive on 3 springs. This guitar sustains all day and the tuning is quite stable, especially with nut and saddles lubrication once in a while.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, rosewood fretboard lemon oil treatment, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with Ernie Ball 11-49 Nickel-plated steel strings.

We also pull them all apart to clean and check every single component and replace all unreliable parts with new ones, from dodgy pots to the whole wiring, tuners, string trees, nuts and etc. All the work done is described in detail in the listing.
We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor. Some colours might look slightly different on your monitor, but we will always put the official Fender colour name in the listing description, so please study pictures of other guitars with the same colour if you are unsure.
