Here is one truly beautiful 50s style Telecaster! Fender Japan is celebrating 40 years this year and during these 4 decades they established themselves as both hardworking craftsmen with stunning attention to the smallest details and also innovators, ready to improve on classic designs of Fender USA and rival their finest instruments in terms of quality and price.
This Telecaster is part of the latest "Hybrid" series of Fender Japan guitars, that are meant for those players who seek classic vintage looks and feel of the "Golden Era" of Fender but cannot deal with the way too rounded fretboard radius or skinny frets.
Satin-finished fretboard now has a 9.5-inch radius and medium jumbo frets (same as used on American Standard/Deluxe/Professional guitars) for a much more user-friendly feel and easier bending. However, the neck design is still just like the early 1950s, with the truss-rod adjuster at the heel, a nice and full U-shape, vintage-style tuners that can lock the string without the need for windings. The neck plays very nicely, especially thanks to that satin lacquer on the back, which makes it feel like a nicely worn-in instrument.
Gorgeous and unique Indigo Blue colour is applied over a very classic looking alder body (instead of the more traditional Fender Japan basswood). Balanced weight and deep natural resonance make this a real pleasure to play.
To get the absolute best electrical voice for this top-spec Tele model Fender Japan turned to Fender USA and as a result, this Tele boasts Fender USA Pure Vintage '58 Alnico V pickups, that have beautiful articulation and dynamics and provide a wide palette of sounds. To make matters even more exciting a 4-way switch is used: together with your classic 3 Telecaster sounds (neck, neck+bridge in parallel, bridge) you also get an in-series connection for a chunky humbucker-like response and double the output.
This position is perfect for a Tele because you get a very powerful tone with incredible balance: brightness of the bridge pickup, warmth of the neck pickup and crunchy mid-range, which is usually scooped in your traditional "in-parallel" middle position.
The rest of the wiring also has top-spec USA components, such as CTS A250K "dimple" pots, CRL switch and Switchcraft output jack. Yellow Hornet ceramic capacitor provides a very smooth and gradual treble roll-off.
Guitar for sale comes in unplayed condition with just a couple of very minor surface scratches on the body.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body clean, neck deep clean and full electronics check. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 nickel-plated steel strings.
This guitar will be shipped around UK and EU with Parcelforce courier, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. Worldwide shipping provided as well.

Please note that although we put our heart and soul and also all our knowledge into every single guitar we sell, a setup is a personal preference and we cannot give any guarantees. However, we try to get the best playability out of every guitar and set them up so you can play both rhythm and lead. We also pull them all apart to clean and check every single component and replace all unreliable parts with new ones, from dodgy pots to the whole wiring, tuners, string trees, nuts and etc. All the work done is described in detail in the listing.
We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor. Some colours might look slightly different on your monitor, but we will always put the official Fender colour name in the listing description, so please study pictures of other guitars with the same colour if you are unsure. We focus on finding great quality guitars and making them reliable and inspiring to play.
