Here is one truly beautiful 60s-style Telecaster! Fender Japan celebrated 40 years in 2022 and over these 4 decades they established themselves as both hardworking craftsmen with stunning attention to the smallest details and also innovators, ready to improve on classic designs of Fender USA and rival their finest instruments in terms of quality and price.
This Telecaster is part of "Hybrid" series of Fender Japan guitars, that are meant for those players who seek classic vintage looks and feel of the "Golden Era" of Fender, but cannot deal with the way too rounded fretboard radius or skinny frets and want that extra-cool 4th in-series humbucker-esque tone, available with a 4-way switch installation.
Dark and rich slab rosewood fretboard now has 9.5-inch radius and medium jumbo frets (same as used on American Standard/Deluxe/Professional guitars) for a much more user-friendly feel and easier bending. However, the neck design is still just like the early 1960s, with the truss-rod adjuster at the heel, nice and comfy U-shape, vintage style slotted tuners and "over-the-lacquer" decal on the headstock. Neck plays very nicely, especially thanks to that satin lacquer on the back, that makes it feel like a nicely worn-in instrument.
Gorgeous Seafoam Green is applied over a very classic-looking alder body (instead of the more traditional for Fender Japan basswood). Balanced weight and deep natural resonance make this a real pleasure to play.
To get the absolute best electrical voice for this top-spec Tele model Fender Japan turned to Fender USA and as a result, this Tele boasts Fender USA Pure Vintage '58 alnico V pickups, that have beautiful articulation and dynamics and provide a wide palette of sounds. To make matters even more exciting a 4-way switch is used: together with your classic 3 Telecaster sounds (neck, neck+bridge in parallel, bridge) you also get a in-series connection for a chunky humbucker-like response and double the output.
This position is perfect for a Tele, because you get a very powerful tone with incredible balance: brightness of the bridge pickup, warmth of the neck pickup and crunchy mid-range, that is usually scooped in your traditional "in-parallel" middle position.
The rest of the wiring also has top-spec USA components, such as CTS A250K "dimple" pots, CRL switch and Switchcraft output jack. Yellow Hornet ceramic capacitor provides a very smooth and gradual treble roll-off.
Guitar for sale comes in excellent condition with several minor surface dings on the body and back of the neck.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body clean, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard treatment and full electronics check. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 nickel-plated steel strings.
This guitar will be shipped around UK and EU with Parcelforce or UPS courier, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. Worldwide shipping provided as well.
