Here's one beautiful Fender Japan 62 Vintage Reissue Custom Telecaster! Made in Japan around 2002, this is a higher tier model that came from the factory with Fender USA Custom Shop Texas Special pickups. The unique feature of this particular model is the use of black binding instead of the common white one. We've never seen this done before! Maybe this was a custom order? Neck pocket stamp says TL62B-76 3TSB DK-390 with B meaning "Bound".
Guitar for sale comes in great condition. Gorgeous 3-tone sunburst and dark rosewood fretboard look stunning and the off-white pickguard gifts nice contrast. Body has some small dings and scratches around the edges, but neck has minimal wear and frets have plenty of life left in them. Original Kluson vintage-style slotted tuners help maintain stable tuning and the original nut is nicely cut to allow for precise intonation.
Texas Specials alnico V pickups are one of the most popular Custom Shop pickups ever made by Fender - and for a good reason! The string-to-string separation and harmonic content make these a true pleasure to use, especially plugged into a nice tube amp. Bridge pickup can drive the amp very well and the neck pickup is nice and mellow, so the middle position has best of both worlds.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, lemon oil fretboard treatment, neck deep clean, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings.
