Sunburst that sings, binding that pops, and a neck that feels like butter left out on the windowsill.
Say hello to this beautifully vibey 2006 Fender Japan ‘62 Vintage Reissue Custom Telecaster. It's got all the class and bite you'd expect from a double-bound sunburst Tele, with just enough player-friendly upgrades to make you feel clever for picking it up.
The 3-tone Sunburst finish is textbook vintage cool, wrapped in tidy cream binding that says “I dress well, but I still party.” The alder body is classic Tele territory—resonant, balanced, and clocking in at 3.5 kg. It’s not boat-anchor heavy, but still has that reassuring solid feel when you sling it on.
Now, the maple neck is where it gets spicy: refinished in smooth nitro around back, so it’s fast, velvety, and already broken in for that “I’ve played this guitar for years” feel. It’s a comfy C-shape, with just enough meat without being baseball bat territory. Topped with a slab rosewood fretboard, 7.25” vintage radius, and 21 vintage frets (moderate wear, plenty of life), it’s all classic feel with modern playability baked in.
Hardware includes Gotoh vintage slotted tuners in chrome, and an original ashtray bridge that's been souped-up with compensated brass saddles for intonation that won’t make you wince when you play cowboy chords up the neck. Strings go through the body—where they belong.
Electronics are mostly untouched, which is good news here. You’re still rocking the original Fender Japan vintage-style single coils—clear, chimey, and just a bit sassy. The original A250K pots and ceramic tone cap are still doing their job, but the CRL USA 3-way switch has been swapped in for extra clicky reliability. Just how we like it.
Wear? Just some small dings on the body, minimal neck wear, and no structural issues—the kind of honest wear that adds charm, not questions.
This is the kind of guitar that looks classy, plays smooth, and can absolutely take over a set with the tone of a thousand jukeboxes. You bring the amp. She'll do the rest.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body clean, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard treatment and full electronics check. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 nickel-plated steel strings.
