This Telecaster is part of "Hybrid II" series of Fender Japan guitars, that are meant for those players who seek classic vintage looks and feel of the "Golden Era" of Fender, but cannot deal with the very rounded fretboard radius or skinny frets and want that extra-cool in-series humbucker tone, available with a 4-way switch installation.
 
The fretboard on this guitar, made of dark chocolate colour rosewood, boasts 9.5-inch radius and narrow tall frets for a much more user-friendly feel and easier bending. Modern C-shape maple neck comes equipped with vintage-style locking tuners, that help achieve better tuning stability thanks to the lack of string windings around the posts. Truss-rod is very conveniently adjusted at the headstock - so no more neck removals! The neck plays very nicely, especially thanks to that satin finish on the back, that makes it feel like a nicely worn-in instrument.
 
Gorgeous 3-tone Sunburst is applied over a very classic-looking alder body (instead of the more traditional for Fender Japan basswood). Balanced weight and deep natural resonance make this a real pleasure to play. This guitar is loud acoustically and has a very balanced sonic palette. The so-called "belly cut" on the back of the body is a nice addition, making this even more convenient to play.
 
To get the absolute best electrical voice for this top-spec Tele model a set of custom-voiced Hybrid II single-coils was used. These pickups have vintage outputs and design and give the most beautiful articulation and dynamics. To make matters even more exciting the wiring has a 4-way switch: together with your classic three Telecaster sounds (neck, neck+bridge in parallel, bridge) you also get an in-series connection for a chunky humbucker-like response and double the output.
 
This position is perfect for a Tele, because you get a very powerful tone with incredible balance: brightness of the bridge pickup, warmth of the neck pickup and crunchy mid-range, that is usually scooped in your traditional "in-parallel" middle position.
 
The wiring loom also comes with USA-made CTS pots and a high voltage Orange Drop ceramic capacitor. The control cavity has been factory-shielded and grounded to curb any intereference.
 
Classic Fender "Pat. Pend" bridge comes with brass barrel saddles with compensated design for a much improved intonation across the whole fretboard.
 
This Tele comes in excellent condition with just minor surface wear on the pickguard and no structural damage.
 
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body clean, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard treatment and full electronics check. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 nickel-plated steel strings.
