GUITAR DEMO: https://youtu.be/E30ru72K_PM
Unique chance to get your hands on a highly collectible Telecaster, whether you are a fan of the great Jerry Donahue or not. These were only produced in Japan in very limited quantities and are sought after by Fender collectors thanks to rare combination of a maple V-shape neck and a double bound body.
The guitar for sale comes in road worn condition with plenty of battle scars from years on the road. Usual bumps and scratches here and there, mainly surface marks, nothing drastic. Beautiful classic 60s Dakota Red finish and lovely wood grain match the cream binding perfectly, black 3-ply scratchplate adds to the character. Alder body is not too heavy and very resonant.
Very lovely soft V-shape 7,25 radius one-piece maple neck is a real treat. Not too skinny but not too chunky either. Frets have plenty of life in them, nut has been upgraded at some point, fretboard edges are rolled in for maximum playing comfort. Neck has plenty of small dings on the finish, but no structural damage or modifications. Original Kluson nickel tuners are stable and reliable. Truss-rod works smoothly and is adjusted at the heel.
This Tele originally came with two single coil pickups, but the previous owner was clearly a rocker, so both pickups have been upgraded to Seymour Duncan rail humbuckers for punchy and powerful tone. Wiring has been fully upgraded with USA-made components: CRL 3-way switch, CTS A250K volume and tone pots, Orange Drop ceramic capacitor and Gibson style output jack plate.
Bridge has the classic old-school "ashtray" design with brass saddles for warmer tone. A-serial stamped on the bridge together with “Made in Japan” on the neck heel (as opposed to post 1997 Crafter in Japan) confirm the production being from 1992 to 1996. Bridge provides solid sustain and tuning stability and all intonation and height adjustment screws work smoothly.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, full electronics check, truss-rod, and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings.
This guitar will be shipped around UK with Parcelforce courier, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. Worldwide shipping is available as well.
