Love an offset, but want something a little bit more unique? How about a thinline semi-hollow variant? In grey sparkle finish that will take the meaning of the word "shiny" to a whole new level!

We are big fans of offsets here at GuitarGarageLondon - and here's one truly special custom offset with an alder body with a 7-mm walnut top and two big sound chambers on both sides of the vibrato.

The vast majority of offset guitars have bodies made of alder or ash. Walnut tops are sometimes chosen for acoustic guitars. Thanks to this unique combination and sound chambers this guitar not only sound sublime without any amp, but also weights just 3.5 kg.

Sound chambers can also be heard when plugged in, with the guitar exhibiting very velvety low-mids and crystal-clear highs, with 3D depth to every note. All inner cavities have been professionally shielded with high-grade copper foil and grounded. "Faraday Cage" created by the cavities and the pickguard helps greatly reduce electrical interference and noise.

Red sparkle finish is truly something else, with the glitter becoming particularly lively in electric lights. Simply stunning! Fender made these kind of sparkle finishes to order back in the 1960s, but they are extremely rare to come by.  Gloss black pickguard creates a stark contrast to the body.

Beautiful maple neck was made by Fender Japan in 2023 as part of Traditional II series. Medium C-shape and and gloss finish make this a true pleasure to play. Original narrow tall frets have no wear and the cool vintage style slotted tuners are stable and reliable.

Electrical-voice is provided by a pair of Fender American Professional II V-mod Jazzmaster pickups, that are meant to replicate all the beloved vintage tones with a bit more versatility. The bridge pickup has two outputs at different parts of the coil - so by pulling the tone knob up you are getting a nice boost from the full coil and with the knob down it has a clearer more vintage sound.

Original Jazzmaster wiring was developed by Leo to enchant the jazz players (who ignored the guitar altogether) , but the whole rhythm/lead circuit design is a bit of a hit-and-miss. So instead, this guitar has American Professional II wiring. Besides those classic Jazzmaster positions (neck, neck+bridge in parallel, bridge) you also get a humbucker-esque 4th sound.

Slider on the upper horn engages both pickups in-series, where both coils essentially act as a spaced humbucker, doubling the output and overdriving any tube amp into sweet heaven. This sound is incredibly balanced thanks to all the twang from the bridge pickup, warmth of the neck and lack of mid scoop, that you usually get in a more traditional "middle" position, where pickups are engaged in parallel. Roller pots control the volume and tone of the in-series circuit. With the slider down and using the 3-way toggle switch you will still get those three traditional tones.

Orange Drop ceramic tone capacitor is responsible for the smooth treble roll off, that allows thick and gritty tone when you turn the pot down. Wiring comes with solid shaft A500K volume and tone pots (tone pot a push-push) and a Switchcraft 3-way toggle. Volume pot has a "treble bleed" circuit installed to make sure that the volume roll-off is nice and even.

We started using Hosco Japan vibratos instead of Fender ones only recently, but the quality of the components and the tuning stability of these units is very impressive and consistent. Vibrato works very smoothly and the spring used is very responsive, yet stable, always returning to pitch. Vibrato has a lock function, that helps stay in tune in case of a string break. The original long arm stays in nicely and doesn't flop around. Vibrato cavity has been positioned closer to the bridge on this custom build to provide a better angle of the strings at the bridge and eliminate the need for a neck shim.

Traditional Jazzmaster bridge famous for its rattling and string slippage was never even considered for this project. This time we've decided to use Hosco Japan Mustang bridge. This super-solid design uses solid barrel saddles, radiused to the 9.5-inch fretboard, to enhance sustain, natural resonance and tuning stability.  Now you can hit those strings as hard as you want and use the tremolo till your hands hurt.

This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard treatment, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings.
