Here’s your chance to own a guitar that looks like it fell out of a 1957 time machine… but, y’know, with the added bonus of being alive in 1991.
This is not just any red Strat. This is Fiesta Red. Not "sort of red," not "almost salmon," not “someone’s nan’s nail polish” — this is full-blown, look-at-me, old-school nitro Fiesta Red. The kind that fades gracefully into “guitar-shaped sunset” if you play it enough.
Born in 1991 (neck stamped Sep 6, 1990; body stamped Aug ’91 — because Fender weren’t in a rush), this darling comes from the golden years of the American Vintage series and has been adored by it's original owner since the very beginning (we bought this from his son).
The neck? A C-shape maple neck with just the right handful of meat — no pointy “V” surprises or chunky “boat” profiles. It's has original nitro finish all the way, so it’ll age like rock ‘n’ roll should: unevenly, with style. Vintage-correct 7.25” radius maple board, 21 vintage frets with minimal wear and that “over-the-lacquer” headstock decal - all the specs that take you back to 1957. Nut width? 42.4mm. Neck depth? 20.8mm at the first, 23.1mm at the twelfth — just in case you need those stats to win an argument online. It also has the infamous "narrow dot" spacing at the 12th fret - Fender used this from around 1963 to 1998 on all of their USA-made guitars.
The body is made from a particulartly resonant alder and finished in nitrocellulose. The control cavity has the vintage-correct "shoulderless" design and the neck pocket is stamped Aug 1991. There's plenty of surface wear and nitro ageing all around the body and several dings here and there - but no nasty modifications or structural damage.
Under the hood? Very early model Fender Custom Shop Texas Special single-coils with the bridge pickup overwound to a feisty 7.6k, so you get bite, snarl, and just enough twang to keep it legal.
These pickups were prototyped on a SRV Strat in the very late 1980s and slowly made their way onto Custom Shop guitars. All of the wiring looks original, including the CTS A250K pots (dated to 27th week of 1991), 3-way switch and black wires used to connect the tone pots (a quirk that many early 1990s AV Strats share) so maybe this set was installed from the factory as a special order? If you prefer the more traditional 5-way switch - just let us know and we'll rewire it for you.
Hardware’s all original and vintage spec: cold rolled steel sustain block, bent steel saddles, Kluson-style slotted tuners, and enough patina to make it look like it’s been on tour since the Cold War.
The plastics have aged into cream colour and the original thin 1-ply pickguard has a crack near the bottom screw, but it still holds together. Weight is a featherweight-for-a-Strat 3.3kg, so your back will thank you while your amp begs for mercy.
This glorious Strat comes in a slim non-original 1990s tweed case with red interior — because if you’re going to own a Fiesta Red Strat, it deserves to travel in style.
As an extra bonus you will also get an uber-cool Fender USA guitar catalogue from the year 1990, vintage leather Fender strap, Fender rubber O-ring strap locks, Fender polishing cloth and original tremolo arm.
What this guitar will do to you:
Make you play longer than you meant to
Make your other guitars jealous
Make you say “just one more riff” until 3 a.m.
Possibly get you banned from your local open mic for “hogging the stage”
It’s loud, it’s proud, it’s way cooler than it has any right to be. I don’t want to sell it. You don’t need another guitar. But if you’ve made it this far, we both know how this ends.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 Nickel-plated steel strings.
This guitar will be shipped around UK with Parcelforce courier, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. We also ship to USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and many other places, but at the moment we don't ship to EU or Northern Ireland.
