Some Jaguars are the kind of guitars you have to emotionally prepare for. You pick them up and immediately think, “right… what mood are you in today?”
 
This one feels like it already had that phase, got over itself, and moved on.
 
Born in Japan, and now upgraded with an American Professional neck this guitar got our signature nitro relic refin and some truly useful wiring mods. The neck is a medium C, satin back, 9.5" radius with narrow tall frets — which basically means you don’t have to fight it. No awkward bends, no fretting out, no polite negotiations required. You just play, and it cooperates. Weird concept for a Jaguar.
 
Then there’s the usual Jaguar “hardware experience,” which has been… gently corrected. Mustang bridge and Buzzstop — the things that stop it from doing that charming-but-also-not-charming thing where strings buzz, hop, or generally misbehave. The original vibrato’s still there, doing its wobbly thing with the lock intact, just now it behaves like it’s part of the instrument instead of an independent entity.
 
The single-coil pickups have been handmade and scatter-wound to replicate the lush tones of the 1960s that everyone from surf to indie to alt rock are so in love with these days. Then we get to the wiring.
 
You’ve still got the standard Jaguar controls — pickup switches, strangle switch, all that — so you can do the usual bright, sharp, cutting tones. It does that classic Jaguar “ice pick but make it musical” thing perfectly.
 
But then you accidentally switch both pickups off… and instead of silence, it suddenly gets louder.
Because of course it does.
 
Instead of muting, it flips into this thicker, punchier in-series humbucker-style tone that absolutely no one expects from a Jaguar. It’s like the guitar going, “oh, you thought we were done? Nah.” First time it happens you’ll assume you’ve done something wrong. Second time, you’ll try to do it again on purpose.
 
There’s also a killswitch up top, because apparently subtlety wasn’t the goal here. The rhythm circuit is still there too, but it’s been politely retired.
 
Visually, it’s got that Olympic white nitro relic finish that’s properly worn in — checking, patina, aged hardware. Looks like it’s lived a bit and kept going.
 
 
It’s still unmistakably a Jaguar — short scale, bright, snappy, slightly weird — but without the usual “this might fall apart mid-song” energy. And every now and then it just decides to throw in a completely different, much angrier tone for no real reason.
 
Honestly, it feels less like a fragile vintage offset and more like a Jaguar that’s been through therapy.

This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard treatment, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with D'addario 11-49 Nickel-plated steel strings.
