This is a Fender Japan Vintage Reissue Jaguar from 2002, which means it already belongs to that wonderful category of guitars that quietly became cool again while nobody was paying attention. Back then Jaguars were still the oddballs of the Fender family — shorter scale, more switches than common sense, and a reputation for doing things slightly differently just to keep everyone awake. Naturally, Fender Japan made them beautifully.

Finished in a proper vintage 3-tone sunburst with the correct tortoiseshell guard, it looks exactly like a Jaguar should: slightly mysterious, slightly dangerous, and definitely not interested in behaving like a Strat. The alder body keeps things lively and resonant, the original factory shielding is still intact, and the whole guitar weighs a comfortable 3.6 kg — solid enough to feel serious, light enough to play all night.

The 24-inch scale maple neck has that familiar medium C profile that sits comfortably in the hand, paired with a dark rosewood board, vintage 7.25" radius, and 21 vintage frets that show honest moderate wear. It’s the sort of neck that feels broken-in rather than broken-down. Kluson-style slotted tuners keep the vintage look intact, while the Mustang bridge upgrade with solid steel saddles solves the one complaint people usually have about Jaguars — the bridge now behaves itself while everything else stays delightfully weird.

Electronics are the full Jaguar experience. Original Fender Japan Alnico V Jaguar pickups deliver that unmistakable bright, punchy, slightly snarly offset tone, backed by the complete switching circus: lead and rhythm circuits, low-cut switch, slider switches, the works. It looks like a control panel because it basically is. Once you learn it, you realise the Jaguar isn’t complicated — it’s just giving you options.

Condition shows honest life: surface wear, a couple of small dings, and some buckle rash on the back. Nothing structural, nothing scary, just proof it has actually been played instead of spending twenty years hiding in a case.

In short: a proper Japanese-built Jaguar, vintage spec where it matters, sensibly upgraded where it helps, and still gloriously eccentric. The sort of guitar that makes perfect sense the moment you plug it in.

This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, body polish, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard treatment, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment. Restringed with Ernie Ball 11-49 Nickel-plated steel strings.

This guitar will be shipped around UK with Parcelforce couriers, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. Worldwide shipping provided as well, but at the moment we don't ship to EU or Northern Ireland.

However, we try to get the best playability out of every guitar and set them up so you can play both rhythm and lead. We also pull them all apart to clean and check every single component and replace all unreliable parts with new ones, from dodgy pots to the whole wiring, tuners, string trees, nuts and etc. All the work done is described in detail in the listing.

We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor. Some colours might look slightly different on your monitor, but we will always put the official Fender colour name in the listing description, so please study pictures of other guitars with the same colour if you are unsure. We focus on finding great quality guitars and making them reliable and inspiring to play.
