Here we have a 1996 Fender Japan '67 Vintage Reissue Stratocaster that somehow manages to be both elegant and slightly dangerous. Finished in natural ash, it’s got that “yes, I chop wood and play Hendrix covers” energy, showing off the grain like it’s flexing in a mirror. It’s got serious classic-rock energy, paired with some modern muscle under the hood and sounds like it’s been bench-pressing tube amps since 1996.
It’s got a maple cap neck, which means no skunk stripe and lots of tight, bright snap. Add in the black single-ply guard, and you’ve basically got the Strat equivalent of a leather jacket over a white tee. Clean. Classic. A little mean. The nut is slightly narrower and the C-shape is slim enough to feel effortless.
Now, the electronics have had a proper upgrade—none of that stock, shrug-and-hope-for-the-best wiring. We’re talking CTS pots, CRL 5-way switch, and a Switchcraft jack, all wired up like someone actually cared (because we do).
As for pickups, you’re looking at a pair of Iron Gear Pig Irons in the neck and middle—vintage-voiced, super clear, and full of that Stratty sparkle. In the bridge, there’s an Iron Gear Texas Loco—overwound and ready to get rowdy when the clean tones just aren’t cutting it. It’s like a regular Strat pickup, but with a bit of a grudge.
The bridge has been upgraded with Graphtech String Saver saddles, because you deserve more than tuning tantrums and snapped high E strings during your big solo. They’re smoother, more stable, and might just extend the life of your strings and your patience. They also give the tone a little extra sweetness on the top end—less “ice pick,” more “hot butter.”
You’ll keep telling yourself you’re only going to play for five minutes, then look up two hours later wondering what happened.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body cleaning, neck deep clean, lemon oil fretboard conditioning, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment! Restringed with D'addario 10-46 nickel-plated steel strings.

We make sure that every guitar we sell is problem free and take full responsibility for the accuracy of our listing descriptions. All photographs are done by a professional photographer and processed on a calibrated monitor.
