There is a few custom colours that are truly elusive when it comes to guitars. Sherwood Green might be one of them - always looking stunning, but there's just not enough guitars finished in Sherwood Green.
This custom comes with a handmade and very resonant 2-piece alder body and thin vintage style Sherwood Green nitro relic finish, that allows the body to resonate freely and wear out at an impressive rate. There's a lot of cool patina and checking on the body and the whole guitar only weights 3.2 kg . Aged 3-ply mint green pickguard match the body really nicely.
The one-piece maple neck was made by Fender Japan for the 52 Vintage Reissue Telecaster model in 2006. This has the classic soft-V back shape, vintage frets and amber gloss finish. We've upgraded the nut with a Graphtech TUSQ frictionless one for better tuning stability. Original Kluson tuners work smoothly.
This project demanded something special in the pickup department, so we've handmade these 1960s style single-coils using vintage-accurate enamel wire and AlNiCo II magnets for a smooth top end. The bridge pickup is slightly overwound for a bit more oomph.
The wiring is all USA-spec - but with a twist. Besides your classic three Telecaster positions (neck, neck+bridge in parallel, bridge) you will also get a powerful in-series 4th position, that combines both single-coils into a spaced humbucker for double the output and raw power, perfect for overdriving the amps.
Classic Fender USA Pat Pending "ashtray" bridge has been upgraded with a set of Gotoh In-tune saddles, that have compensated slot designs, allowing for much better intonation compared to the normal Telecaster saddles.
This instrument received a full professional setup with deep body clean, neck deep clean and full electronics check. Restringed with D'addario 10-46 nickel-plated steel strings.
This guitar will be shipped around UK with Parcelforce and UPS couriers, safely packed into a sturdy guitar cardboard box. 24h courier service provided to UK customers. We also ship to USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and many other places, but at the moment we don't ship to EU or Northern Ireland.
